Hello again!
8/18/2024
Well well everyone, it's been quite a couple of months since our last post here, no the game wasn't left abandoned or anything, but for a couple months after that we had to focus a lot on our own problems, but for the last two months we have completely reworked entirety of the game, fixing most of the bugs, making all systems much clearer more universal, as well as adding plentiful of new things to the game, like Local Coop, even were testing out Online a bit. New enemies, planned out the game, new spell, better AI. A LOT of stuff. This was a very very productive 2 months for us, as we were preparing to showcase all this on the festival that was going on here.
Now this is not all of the stuff that we experimented with, worked on, there has been a lot of other artistic process and ideas. Here's some new weapons that are gonna come in soon. Rocket launchers, saws, grenade shotguns, there's plenty on the board :)
And now that most of the stuff were reworked, we just need to do some additional tweaking on it after the recieved feedback from the festival and playtesters and we are ready to get into more deeper things, levels, story, hub, etc... There's plenty coming. See you all there :)
Oh right we also have a steam page now, as well as a teaser on there, go check it out! Click here :)
Heya!

Hello everybody! My name is Firey, I am one of the devs of this project you are viewing right now, Ghostslayer(s). This is a game project that we started on Ludum Dare and want to develop further on, we have a lot of ideas for how the game could be expanded into something more cool and fun and we are fueling to bring it to it's fullest
You can enjoy the current post-jam version here!
Now what is the game itself and how much should we look for ahead? Well, it's a 2D top-down bullet hell shooter. Mouthful. Our main feature for the game is spell casting, using combinations (in the current jam version keyboard keys) drawn with your mouse you can cast yourself weapons, allys, zones of support and a lot other wacky stuff! We will certainly go crazy with ideas on which spells to implement and there's a lot of possibilities for all the different stuff.
Currently the map on itself is just 4 rooms with same style connected to each other, however ahead in the game we plan on having a sorta Zombies style map where players can progress in different directions after defending one of the areas, however unlike usually those maps eventually loop on themselves, our directions will have different endings to themselves, different enemies and different end bosses, they aren't anything too big, but it's always interesting to explore and open up new locations to defend
One of the other features we want to develop so badly is coop (That's why the page is called Ghostslayer(s)), there isn't a lot of multiplayer bullet hells around and we honestly just wish for something nice and fun to get on both challange and enjoy yourself with friends. However it is no easy task, networking on GameMaker is hell which I have honestly not much of an idea how to deal with yet, so I am just hoping we'll manage to bring that to life.
Other than that we obviously intend on overall increasing the graphical quality of the game and already working on a better lighting system, bringing new enemies and more and we can't wait to see it out. Thank you for visiting our devlog and we hope to let you know with more updates soon!
